Welcome Back, Fellow Parent
Today I want to talk about one of my favorite money topics - side hustles! Buzz word alert am I right?
While there are serious pros and cons to side hustles (especially as a parent), I want to focus on the pros for today, along with a few ideas to get started.
To me, side hustles aren’t just about making ends meet—they’re about following passions, creating new opportunities, and gaining the freedom to spend more meaningful time with your loved ones.
Our time as parents is limited, so I put together a list of 12 which are great to start with. Each of these should have a lower barrier to entry (including low startup costs) and can be profitable with a bit of elbow grease:
Idea | Potential Monthly Earnings |
---|---|
Reselling Kids’ Clothes and Toys | $200-$1,000 |
Print-on-Demand with Kid Art | $200-$1,000 |
Pet Sitting or Dog Walking | $500-$1,500 |
Blogging or Vlogging About Family Life | $500-$5,000 |
Virtual Tutoring or Teaching | $500-$3,000 |
Freelance Writing or Editing | $500-$2,500 |
Photography | $200-$2,500 |
Handmade Crafts or Products | $100-$1,000 |
Meal Prep and Delivery Services | $500-$2,500 |
Social Media Management | $500-$3,000 |
Online Courses or Digital Products | $1,000+ |
Event Planning for Kids’ Parties | $300-$5,000 |
Whatever hustle you choose, remember to start small and find something that works with your family’s rhythm.
